PILOT PROJECT – Sint-Truiden
Despite its location on the remote outskirts of Sint-Truiden, a competition project for elderly housing pursues an urban form. The complex is organised over two levels: a lower level of galleries accommodates the slope of the site, while a parallel set of slab housing sits above. Due to this composition, the scheme could be perceived as an enclosed block, contributing to the fragmented urban condition, but equally it performs as a detached housing cluster set around a shared green space, with its bands of vegetation.
