MUSEUM AND LEARNING CENTRE – Tokyo
Set within a Japanese historic garden in Tokyo, the site preserves a centuries-old villa and pond enclosed by the estate’s walls. The brief called for a museum, a members' house, and a café/flower shop that would honour the estate’s legacy while opening it to the public. Our design transforms the layout of existing walls with a sequence of three new roofs, creating interconnected spaces that frame views, guide movement, and harmonise architecture, nature, and cultural heritage.
