AWC 21 – TROUBLE WITH CLASSICISTS
The 21st incarnation of Architecture Without Content is, more than the previous ones, a report related to our current (political) malaise. As sceptical as we are in imagining a direct connection between form and content (and thus architecture and politics), we feel the need to clarify and investigate the position the practice should take in these confused times. This is not entirely new for us of course, as any of our recent reports tried to unravel the potential of architecture as a tool to create hierarchies in the even covered field. Apart from its political urgency, what has changed? If always an architecture of necessity and economy (of means) was central to our argument, we felt it necessary to refine our recent engagements with a more Spartan—and perhaps clear—catalogue.
