AWC 22 – COLLEGE PORTRAIT
In September 2016, Ellis Woodman invited six architects and educators to do a workshop in the Florey Building in Oxford: the late masterpiece of James Stirling's brick period. The idea was to contemplate on the 21st century university. The base map for the workshop was the Logan Map of Oxford, an idealised axonometric representation of Oxford's colleges dating from 1675. Woodman found inspiration in the way Nolli's plan of Rome was used as a base for the famous speculative take on Rome's architecture in 1977: Roma Interrotta.
